PureIRC was created by long-time IRC users who wanted a new place for people who still appreciate IRC and the communities that grow around it.

Many of us have roots in older IRC communities, particularly QuakeNet. We have spent years in channels where a quick question turns into an evening’s discussion, and where projects take shape between the ordinary bits of conversation.
