IRCnet

Live
#6 of 141 English Est. 1988 2.12.0-pre(7e856c0) Verified

IRCnet stands as one of the most culturally significant giants of chat history, forming directly from the historic European counter-split of EFnet back in 1996. It deliberately chose to preserve the absolute purist, decentralised architecture of early IRC, completely rejecting global channel registration bots or services. It is famously governed by a strict set of technical rules and regional server agreements, making it a legendary, resilient network beloved by traditional internet purists.
